Distinguished New York-born, London-based singer-songwriter Nell Bryden announces a UK tour for June & July 2019, an intimate set of dates to support the release of her new EP, Soundtrack To Little Wing (Part 1) plus the recently announced new album the Living Room Sessions.
This Radio 2 darling has been listening to her fans. Several months ago Nell began a weekly series, dubbed the Living Room Sessions, showcasing acoustic performances recorded with her band in Nell’s London home. Every Sunday, fans anticipated a new stripped-back rendition, and every Sunday they asked for her to release it as an album. She listened.
The album was released May 21st, coinciding with her performance in Ken Bruce’s Piano Room on BBC Radio 2.
It’s not her first release of 2019. The BBC Radio 2 playlisted single “Smoke In My Heart” came off her long-awaited EP Soundtrack To Little Wing — Part 1, part of a companion album she wrote and recorded to complement her debut novel. The story of how this New Yorker has been building on her status as a distinguished singer-songwriter by writing her first novel is a real page-turner in itself. When her book Little Wing arrives, it will be accompanied by a full album, in a serendipitous fusion of two art forms: the one that we've always known and admired Nell for, and the hidden talent that she always wanted to pursue.
And that very same crack band of players will join Nell on tour in June and July around the UK. Their 15-date itinerary will see Bryden returning to her roots and following in the sonic footsteps of some of her biggest influences, such as Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and Carole King. Admirers can expect soulful, heartfelt performances of new songs as well as favourites from her catalogue.
