Dan Owen - Made To Love You August 12th
This Friday (August 12th) will see the release of the new single from Shrewsbury singer-songwriter Dan Owen entitled 'Made To Love You'. The single is stunning (the vocal work on the chorus is lovely) and bodes well for his new EP 'Open Hands And Enemies' which will follow on September 14th. I urge you to check out the single as Dan Owen is going to be one to watch.
Shrewsbury singer/songwriter Dan Owen has announced his brand new single ‘Made To Love You’, released this Friday (August 12th).
It’s a hauntingly beautiful, heart-on-sleeve break-up ballad from the husky-voiced 24-year old. Examining what keeps people together yet drives them apart, the song comes from Dan’s personal experience supporting a friend who was suffering in an abusive relationship.
Dan Owen originally rose to prominence after a video of him playing a stunning cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘The Ballad Of Hollis Brown’ live was uploaded by a random audience member to Reddit and became an overnight viral internet sensation. Since then Dan’s own talents as a songwriter have blossomed and the result is a captivating selection of songs. His debut EP Bad For Me was released to high praise in 2015 and now ‘Made To Love You’ is the first taste of his upcoming Open Hands And Enemies EP.
Open Hands And Enemies sees Dan straddling swooning soul, throaty blues and carefully crafted pop sentiments, and is due for release on September 14th through LAB Records.
A seasoned veteran of the road despite his young age, Dan has just completed a 30-date European tour in support of Birdy. The singer is such a huge fan of Dan that she finished every night of her tour inviting him onstage to duet on her 2015 hit ‘Let It All Go’. He’s also been invited back to head out on the road with her again for more shows in the autumn.
Dan will also be playing his own headline London show on September 7th at St Pancras Old Church which is now SOLD OUT.
