Charity release - Everybody Cares: An Elliott Smith Compilation out today
Fans of the late Elliott Smith will find much to enjoy via a new compilation released today 15th February 2021. It's called Everybody Cares: An Elliott Smith Compilation which has been put together by Francis Lung (ex-WU LYF), La Blogotheque and My Favorite Elliott Smith Song (a fan podcast). The compilation of Smith covers is available via Bandcamp with 100% of the proceeds going towards LGBTQ+ right charities (AKT, The Audre Lorde Project and GIRES). In June 2020 musician, Francis Lung, La Blogotheque, and the My Favourite Elliott Smith Song podcast put together "Everybody Cares" – an Elliott Smith tribute concert raising money for LGBTQ+ rights. Hosted by Francis on La Blogotheque's Instagram, artists such as Marissa Nadler, EVIL and Christian Lee Hutson performed Elliott Smith covers live and encouraged donations from viewers. The event raised over £1500 for LGBTQ+ rights charities AKT, The Audre Lorde Project and GIRES.
In order to keep raising money and awareness for the cause, an "Everybody Cares: An Elliott Smith Compilation" is to be released independently via Bandcamp today, February 15, 2021, featuring covers of Smith's work provided by Oceanator, EVIL, Martin Courtney (Real Estate), Marissa Nadler, Blaenavon, Francis Lung, Kevin Devine, Christian Lee Hutson, Lionlimb & Keep Dancing Inc. 100% of the proceeds will be given to the aforementioned charities.
