Afro Celt Sound System celebrate their 20th anniversary with a superb new album 'The Source' out April 29th 2016. The band recently played sold out shows at Celtic Connections in Glasgow and Islington Assembly Halls in North London to start what will be a very big 2016 for ACSS. The touring will continue with European festival shows and a major UK tour in October.
Afro Celt Sound System LIVE features the core band members Simon Emmerson, Guinean vocalist, kora and balafon virtuoso N’Faly Kouyate and charismatic dhol master Johnny Kalsi, along with percussionist Robbie Harris and fiddle-player Eòghann MacEanruig, Ged Lynch on drums, Simon 'Palmskin' Richmond on keyboards and electronica and Val Etienne on backing vocals, with the gritty, witty rhymes of Gaelic rapper, musician and language activist Griogair. On some shows, the band will be joined by the hauntingly soulful Armagh-born vocalist and flautist Rioghnach Connolly and the devotional harmonies of the Guinean female quintet Les Griottes.
