R.E.M. announce vinyl singles collection 7IN-83-88

This new boxed set from UMC / Capitol, due for release December 8th, brings together eleven R.E.M. 7” Vinyl singles originally released between 1983 and 1988 on the I.R.S. Records label. The singles feature replicated original picture sleeve art and the set includes two U.K. releases making their U.S. vinyl seven-inch debuts: “Finest Worksong” / “Time After Time” (live) and the double-pack single for “Wendell Gee” with “Crazy,” “Ages of You,” and “Burning Down.”

Deep Purple to play one-off UK date at the O2 in London

Legendary British rock act Deep Purple will play a one-off show at the O2 in London on December 3rd, 2015.

Deep Purple features Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey. The band are on tour in support of their most recent album ‘Now What?!’

Classic hard rock act Heaven & Earth featuring guitarist Stuart Smith and frontman Joe Retta are hard at work on a follow up to the acclaimed 2013 release ‘Dig’. The band has undergone some changes and the new line-up welcomes Ty Bailie (Keyboards), Lynn Sorensen (bass / vocals) and legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff to the fold. Sorensen has seen service with Paul Rodgers / Bad Company while Aronoff (John Mellencamp / John Fogerty / Chickenfoot / Smashing Pumpkins) should need no introduction.

Not content with a slew of UK and German tour dates with THE TREATMENT, Australian rockers MASSIVE will join up with BLACKBERRY SMOKE in Switzerland on October 31st and will support them through until the end of the tour on November 9th in Sweden. The tour will see the pairing of two notorious bands of road dogs, as MASSIVE once famously travelled over 1,000 miles to play a single show, while BLACKBERRY SMOKE regularly play up to 250 shows a year.

Country rock act Darkhorse have been busy these last few weeks and today released a new single and video for ‘You Were The One (I Waited For)’. The video was directed by Matt Leaf (Hedley, K-OS, One Bad Sun) and produced by Brass Tacks Films (Steel Panther, Airbourne, Hedley). Producer, guitarist Michael Riesenbeck has launched a Kickstarter campaign to enable a physical CD pressing of his recently completed album ‘II’. Michael has worked with many artists over the years in the melodic rock / AOR genre including Lec Zorn Project, Michael Bormann (Jaded Heart) and Phil Vincent. He is best known for his ‘Fanfields’ project a Toto tribute album that was very well received.

Progressive psych quintet Jouis to release 'Dojo' November 3rd

Jouis (jhew-ee) have a myriad number of musical influences with elements of Jazz, psychedelia, progressive rock and folk present in their songs. To capture these influences and create the correct vibe ‘Dojo” was recorded live to tape using a combination of analogue and digital recording techniques. The band recorded the album in the studio they built in a previously abandoned office space. It was then mixed by Phil Brown (Zero 7, John Martyn, Bombay Bicycle Club) at The Engine Room in London.

Rumours have been circulating for quite some time that the seminal Bryan Adams album ‘Reckless’ might be ready for the deluxe reissue treatment. The good news is that Adams and his record company seem to have done a good job of raiding the vaults for unreleased material. The release includes seven bonus tracks added to the original album and a live BBC recording of a show from Hammersmith Odeon, London. As is the case with such reissues a super deluxe edition will include a DVD of music videos and a Blu-ray audio disc of the new remaster + 5.1 surround mix of the original album housed in a hardback book style sleeve.

Harem Scarem - Thirteen Weeks In 24 Hours

Canadian melodic rock act Harem Scarem has returned with news of their new album entitled ‘Thirteen’. It will be their first album of new material since ‘Hope’ in 2008. The band did return to duty last year to rerecord ‘Mood Swings’ and the tour for that album seems to have got the band up and firing again.
